Proverbs 8:1-36

Proverbs 8:1-36

Proverbs 8:12a "I wisdom dwell with prudence..." Prudence is not a word we use much today, but it basically can be defined as "the ability to govern and discipline oneself by the use of reason; caution or circumspection as to danger or risk".

Have you ever been called a prude because you won't engage in a risky (or risqué!) activity? Wisdom knows prudence. They are housemates. Those who take no heed to the cautions of God's Word may never be accused of being a "prude", but as someone once told me, "I'd rather be a prude than a tragedy."

God gave us His Word so we could find all the wisdom we would ever need; wisdom to hide in our hearts, and wisdom to guide our steps.
